M&E Site manager

Role :
  • Successful management and delivery of high-profile projects within a range of different sectors
  • Leading the delivery in all aspects of mechanical installations on your projects
  • Providing strong technical knowledge to ensure contracts are delivered in compliance with Employers Requirements, specifications and drawings, as well as to the highest possible standards

Responsibilities :
  • Overall responsibility for the successful completion of the section or works/overall project and to lead by example, managing the day to day delivery of construction projects
  • Reporting to M&E Project Manager informed over the progression of all works under your supervision, through means of progress reports
  • Managing, monitoring and successfully delivering Mechanical projects for our clients within a range of sectors including Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Large-Scale Residential
  • As a manager, you will have the responsibility of ensuring all works are carried out to a high standard ensuring all RAMS and site safety plans are project specific and adhered to
  • Keeping a daily site diary to include details of operatives on site, tasks completed, delays, accidents and near misses
  • Carrying out site inductions for all M&E employees and subcontractors that are working on, and visiting the site
  • Coordinating and planning the subcontract resources, ensuring that subcontractors have the required amount of labor resource on site to meet main contractor programme. Ensuring that the subcontractor is working in the areas that are to be prioritized
  • Communicating and working with the main contractor to ensure their programme is being maintained
  • Completing quantity take-offs from construction drawings and ordering accurate quantities of materials required
  • Preparing weekly internal orders and ensuring orders are being delivered as and when required
  • Ensuring good housekeeping of site is maintained
  • Completion of monthly progress reports
  • Completion of monthly Health and Safety site audits
  • Completion of weekly plant and access equipment checks
  • Ensuring the adherence to all site safety and quality standards
  • Attending on site huddle meetings with other trades as required
  • Attending M&E progress and coordination meetings alongside the Contracts Manager
  • Keeping a record of, and obtaining sign off on all variations carried out on site
  • Liaising with specialist subcontractors and arranging 2nd fix/commissioning attendance
  • Managing the testing and commissioning stage of the projects
  • Prepared to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Supervise the installation of Mechanical Services
  • Order and co-ordinate delivery of materials

Qualifications & Experience :
  • Time served Plumber/Heating Engineer with commercial and industrial experience
  • A valid CSCS/CSR Building Site Manager card or equivalent
  • Desired experience: 4 years minimum experience managing M&E projects
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments
  • Good interpersonal skills to create meaningful reciprocal relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Commercially aware of costs and trends in the market place
  • Good knowledge of safety, health, environment and quality systems
  • Excellent communication, leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering
  • GASsafe registered
  • Use of specialist software packages such as Amtech, AutoDesk products and the like
  • Understand electrical skills including controls systems
