Mechanical Supervisor
Role :
- To supervise the Mechanical division of a residential project in Central London, reporting to the Mechanical Manager
- You will be required to manage a team of operatives to ensure a compliant and professional, cost effective service is maintained
- To act as an interface between the operative team and the client and to report issues arising to the relevant line Manager
Responsibilities :
- Review of the Scope, Vetting RAMS Documents where required
- Issuing technical Submittals of all Equipment / Packages under guidance of Project Manager
- Managing Sub Contractors to maintain programme targets
- Quality Control, Produce and Issue quality control documents, snag sheets and follow through to sign off
- Manage all Health and Safety on site to include Toolbox Talks
- Assist with Commissioning and Handover
- Report on site progress to PM
- To supervise the Mechanical division of the relevant residential project from conception through to delivery
- Ensure the highest consideration is given to complying with current regulations and specific client requirements
- Ensure the safety standards are understood, implemented and maintained by all team members and Contractors
- Assist the on-site construction team; ensure Sub-contractors work to the programme, construction sequence and ensure efficient deployment when pro-actively allocating work
- Overseeing the work of directly employed Mechanical and external Contractors
- Implement and monitor the project to ensure it is engineered to the highest standard
- Take ownership of Mechanical issues
- Ensure appropriate quality and workmanship
- Produce rotas for the Operative team
- Reporting of all Health and Safety issues
- Manage the issue and upkeep of PPE to the team
- Supervision of mechanical contractor/installation
- Ensuring compliance to specification, design and best practice
- Work closely with the Technical Services Manager to ensure the implementation of the Project QA/QC Plan
- Implement the Company Quality Assurance Plans through the checking, witnessing and recording of the quality activities as described within the Plans
- Witness all critical quality activities including testing & commissioning
- Ensure that all construction and pre-commissioning activities are suitably documented to provide a smooth handover to the Site Commissioning Team
- Liaise with the other discipline Construction Supervisors on a continuous basis to ensure smooth execution of the construction activities
- Liaise closely with the Site Commissioning Team to ensure that any mechanical rectification required during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases is promptly attended to
- Report progress on the activities, versus the contractor's programmes, and advise of any potential slippages to the Head of Construction
- Review and comment on the contractors planning related to mechanical activities
Qualifications & Experience :
- An industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above
- SSSTS
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a full-time supervisor
- Experience working on residential projects
- Ability to influence and drive positive attitudes and behaviours with regards to site Health and Safety
- IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Up to date First Aid qualification
- Essential knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements and Mechanical Safe Systems of Work
- Experience of supervising staff and 3rd parties is essential
- Will need to be able to understand building services including design principles, method statements, inspection test plans, risk assessments, commissioning, and handover requirements
- Plumbing or HVAC Background & Qualifications
- Experience at Supervisor or Site Manager level within Fast track fit out environment
- Good IT proficiency
- Eye for detail and a passion for Quality
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working on large construction projects
- Hold a current CSCS card
- Able to understand drawings
