Electrical Supervisor
Role :
- To supervise the Electrical division of a residential project in London, reporting to the Electrical Manager
- Manage and oversee direct, subcontractor and specialist labour
- Schedule and track electrical install according to program
- Take offs
- Oversee H&S, enforce RAMS, issue permits to work
- Oversee testing and snags
- Progress report to the PM / Engineer
Responsibilities :
- Assist in managing the delivery of the electrical servicing programme including a full range of cost effective diagnostic, design, inspection and procurement services relating to the repair, maintenance and improvement of varied domestic and commercial properties
- Monitor systems for inspection and maintenance of electrical services and appliances and to take action to ensure that relevant legislation and safety standards are met and tenants/staff safety are secured
- Be part of an effective operational team, focused on achievement of service plans and departmental priorities, providing guidance in your area of professional specialism
- Contribute to the development of a culture of collaborative working within the team, including coaching and training team members to ensure optimum service delivery
- Achieve targeted performance objectives, by close monitoring and regularly reporting on progress and financial issues
- Implement with commitment the role of lead officer on all capital & revenue schemes where needed, along with servicing, inspection and repair works assigned to the post holder, coordinating the work of all disciplines included in the design, administration and inspection of these
- Identify and prepare risk assessments to address relevant Health and Safety issues relating to all electrical aspects of the service provided and undertake the duties of a designer as defined within the Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2015
- Install, maintain, modify, and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment
- Determine efficient work procedures and techniques
- Supervision of staff and sub-contractors
- Uphold health and safety legislation
- Maintain positive relationships with client representative and third parties
- Communicate and adopt safe systems of work (RAMS)
- To supervise the Electrical division of the relevant residential project from conception through to delivery
- Ensure the highest consideration is given to complying with current regulations and specific client requirements
- Ensure the safety standards are understood, implemented and maintained by all team members and Contractors
- Assist the on-site construction team; ensure Sub-contractors work to the programme, construction sequence and ensure efficient deployment when pro-actively allocating work
- Overseeing the work of directly employed Electricians and external Contractors
- Implement and monitor the project to ensure it is engineered to the highest standard
- Take ownership of Electrical issues
- Ensure appropriate quality and workmanship
- Produce rotas for the Operative team
- Reporting of all Health and Safety issues
- Manage the issue and upkeep of PPE to the team
Qualifications & Experience :
- Electrical trade background
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- 1st Aid - Preferable
- Experience on mixed use or residential schemes
- Electrician qualified to City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- Certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th Edition
- Testing qualification such as C&G 2391
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a full-time supervisor
- Experience working on residential projects
- Ability to influence and drive positive attitudes and behaviors with regards to site Health and Safety
- IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Up to date First Aid qualification
- Essential knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements and Electrical Safe Systems of Work
- Experience of supervising staff and 3rd parties is essential
- Will need to be able to understand building services including design principles, method statements, inspection test plans, risk assessments, commissioning, and handover requirements
